Privacy policy
How Own The Feed collects and uses information from report readers, prospects, clients, and people who contact us through the website, email, LinkedIn, or WhatsApp.
We collect B2B contact and company context so we can respond properly.
The report access form asks for work email, company, role, and company LinkedIn URL. No phone number is required.
We do not sell personal information.
Who controls your information
Own The Feed is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us at sami@ownthefeed.co.
If a formal legal entity is used for a client contract, those details may also appear in the relevant proposal, statement of work, invoice, or client agreement.
Information we collect
We only collect information that is useful for understanding enquiries, report access requests, prospective client conversations, and active client work.
- Contact details, such as your name, work email, company, role, and messages you send us.
- Company context, such as your company name, website, LinkedIn company page, founder profiles, market category, and public business information.
- Report access form details, including work email, company, role, company LinkedIn URL, referrer, timestamp, and basic technical request information.
- Communication records from email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, calls, calendar bookings, proposals, and client delivery conversations.
- Technical information such as IP address, browser, device, server logs, and security or diagnostic data created by our hosting and form infrastructure.
How we use information
- To respond to enquiries and prospective client conversations.
- To provide report access and understand who is reading Own The Feed research.
- To prepare company-specific visibility readouts, audits, proposals, and discovery calls.
- To deliver client services, manage approvals, keep records, and improve our operating process.
- To protect the website, diagnose technical issues, prevent spam, and meet legal or accounting obligations.
Lawful bases
Where UK data protection law applies, we rely on a small number of lawful bases depending on the context.
- Legitimate interests, where we respond to business enquiries, review public company information, manage B2B outreach, improve our services, and protect the website.
- Contract or steps before contract, where we discuss, prepare, or deliver paid work.
- Consent, where we ask for permission for optional communications or optional use of certain materials.
- Legal obligation, where we need to keep records for tax, accounting, legal, or regulatory reasons.
International transfers
Some tools we use may process information outside the UK or European Economic Area. Where this happens, we expect those providers to use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, adequacy arrangements, or equivalent protections.
How long we keep information
We keep information only for as long as it is useful for the reason it was collected, or as long as required for legal, tax, accounting, dispute, or business record purposes.
- General enquiries and report access leads are usually kept for up to 24 months unless there is an active conversation or a legal reason to keep them longer.
- Client and proposal records may be kept for longer because they relate to contracts, invoices, delivery history, and business records.
- You can ask us to delete or correct information, subject to legal and operational limits.
Your rights
Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal information.
To make a privacy request, email sami@ownthefeed.co. If you are in the UK and are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can also contact the Information Commissioner's Office.
